Ayla Defouw

Ayla Defouw (WHS '24)  was 1.99 Records's first artist. In 2023, Camille saw an Instagram post of Ayla singing a song while sitting on her bed and thought, "maybe we could help bring the song to life in the studio." Months later, after helping find musicians and perfect the arrangement, "Sound of a Hurricane" was released with its accompanying video made by students Kate O'Toole and Amelia Dublin from Woodside's film production class. Ayla was, in part, the spark that lit the fire.
