1.99 Records is a team effort. Our mission is to amplify student voices, both figuratively and literally, by producing and releasing original music and by putting on live shows, promoting the joy of music throughout the school & community.Â
President, Founder/CEO & Lead Songwriter/Producer
Camille Sonnenburg is a senior and musician who has been writing songs for as long as she can remember. She began playing piano at age five, later picked up guitar, and has been producing music since sixth grade. Camille founded 1.99 Records to give students a place to collaborate on original music and perform together. Through the label, she writes and produces songs, runs recording sessions, and helps plan new releases.
Live Performances & Social Media Lead
Abby Bartfield, a sophomore at Woodside High School, is very passionate about music. She’s been singing since she could crawl, started piano lessons at five and picked up the guitar in middle school. As an active musician, she spends much of her time playing and performing music with others. For 1.99 Records, besides being a recording artist, she leads efforts to organize live shows, runs the club’s social media account, and helps with recording and mixing for upcoming releases.Â
Promotion & Marketing Lead
Amelia has been making music for as long as she can remember, singing before she knew it was something to pursue. She grew up performing in school choirs, events, and middle school musicals, later playing piano in a school worship band, experiences that helped her become comfortable and at ease in front of an audience. For the past three years, she has sung weekly on her church’s worship team, continuing to grow as an artist. Now focused on songwriting, Amelia plays piano and guitar and is known for her natural tone and layered, expressive harmonies, approaching music simply and honestly and letting the songs speak for themselves. Behind the scenes at 1.99, she helps with everything from production to PR.
Design & Branding Lead
Elliot has been integral to the development of 1.99 Records's visual identity. A songwriter and producer in his own right, as well as a student journalist, Elliot has focused his efforts for 1.99 Records on logo design, building our website and keeping things consistent by creating brand guidelines & standards.
Advisor & Music/Audio Production Teacher
"Mr. K" has been involved with music as a musician and audio engineer for most of his life. He played and toured with a number of bands and spent years as a recording engineer in the SF Bay Area before getting his teaching credential and dedicating himself to the development of young producers and engineers.
